WOLF ASCENT is a single-player helicopter action game for Mac, with Windows in development. Take back HELIWOLF, an executive helicopter that hides a combat suite, and fly ten connected sorties of rescue, escort and strike.
About the game
HELIWOLF looks like a civilian executive helicopter. Behind flush panels it carries a chin gun, guided rockets, precision missiles, a high-energy laser and three CUB scout drones, and twin ducted pushers boost it to 255 mph.
The campaign opens on foot: the player infiltrates a guarded villa, frees a contact and flies HELIWOLF out of its hangar under fire. Ten authored sorties follow across desert, alpine valleys, a river and the open sea, each one leading from the last: convoy escort, a hover rescue at a mountain bridge, a radar strike, a night passenger run, a river assault and the defence of a village.
The game rewards restraint as much as firepower. Civilians can't be targeted, some objectives require the player to hold fire, and the final battle ends in a ceasefire. Assisted flight, a landing assist and Flight School make it approachable; a glass cockpit, helmet display, target optics and a 32 × 32 km free-flight region built from US Geological Survey data give it depth.
